FACULTY  BOOKCASE,  IIT  HYDERABAD

This bookcase was a part of faculty cabin furniture designed and manufactured for IIT Hyderabad campus. A range of furniture comprising of desks, bookcases, side and discussion tables for more than 200 faculty cabins was mass manufactured and installed in the campus premises. 

The teak stained wooden carcase lends a warm touch to the concrete structure of the institute. The blue stained wooden shutters add a subtle sophisticated colour to the scholarly surroundings. 

The absence of external handles provided a tactile experience, while the solids and voids arrangement lets the users interpret their own permutations by hiding the mundane and showcasing the important.

Rubberwood board carcase finished in teak stain with satin and matte finish. Rubberwood shutters stained blue finished with satin and matte finish.
